Serge Nakauchi Pelletier

After years of successfully matching imagery to his music for his group Pawa up First, Serge Nakauchi Pelletier is returning the favor and demonstrates today that he has also mastered the art of marrying his music to images.

His interest in and passion for visual arts has led him to provide his own music for projects such as: Le Pacte des Anges (2016), Lâcher Prise (2016), Waseskun (2016),Le Coeur Régulier (2016), Le Démantèlement (2013), Whitewash (2013), Dolorès (2011), Tromper le silence (2009), The documentary La Reine malade (2011, Prix ÉcoCaméra), La vérité du pouvoir : Bernie Ecclestone (2010).

He has also collaborated with : Beast, Ariane Moffatt, Xavier Cafeine, Camaromance, Boogat, Akido, Alexandre Désilet et Betty Bonifassi.

ADISQ 2022 Nominations

Ray-On congratulates Philippe Brault for his ADISQ 2022 nomination in the “Album of the year – instrumental” category for his soundtrack for “Maria Chapdelaine”. Moreover, TEKE::TEKE, which includes the composer Serge N. Pelletier, is nominated in the “Album of the year – other language” and “Arrangements of the year” categories. Good luck to the nominees!

Dead in Motion and the album “Delirium” – New musical project by Serge Nakauchi Pelletier

New moniker of musician and composer Serge Nakauchi Pelletier, Dead in Motion’s minimalist approach is reminiscent of artists such as Pharmakon, Johann Johannsson, Cliff Martinez and Trent Reznor, and blends low dissonant drones, unnerving strings-synths duos, ambient piano and guitar-driven noise to score his first album “Delirium”, an experimental soundtrack to an imagined psycho-thriller.

2018 Gémeaux prize winners unveiled

Maisonnette is proud to have contributed to multiple productions rewared at Gémeaux prizes last Sunday, including Plan B for “Best drama series” (music by Mathieu Vanasse), Lâcher prise for “Best comedy” (music by Serge Nakauchi Pelletier), and last but not least Terreur 404 for best original web series: fiction, for which composer Jonathan Dauphinais wrote the music.

Serge Nakauchi Pelletier is composing the music for the documentary “Loin de Bachar”. Produced by the National Film Board of Canada (Colette Loumède) and directed by Pascal Sanchez, the documentary tells the story of a Syrian family in Montreal. As the children attempt to shape a daily life for themselves, their parents live in hope of one day returning to build their country. To be released in Fall 2018.

Serge Nakauchi Pelletier is composing the music for the documentary “Ma Guerre”. Produced by the National Film Board of Canada (Colette Loumède), the documentary is directed by Julien Fréchette. This documentary explores the little-understood phenomenon of volunteers joining the ranks of Kurdish fighters battling ISIS.

Serge Nakauchi Pelletier is composing the music for the new TV series “Lâcher prise”. It will be broadcasted on Radio-Canada Télé in 2016-2017. Written by Isabelle Langlois (“Rumeurs”, “Mauvais karma”, “Boomerang”), the series will be directed by Stéphane Lapointe (who won a Gémeaux Award for in 2011 for «Tout sur moi IV»), and will be produced by Vincent Gagné and François Rozon (Encore Télévision).

“The Dismantlement” (music by Serge PELLETIER) received 5 nominations, among others, for “Best Motion Pictures” and “Achievement in direction”. Our partner Kim GABOURY is also up for “Achivement in music – original score” for the movie “Maïna”.
