“La disparition des lucioles” hailed as Best Canadian Feature Film at TIFF

The spotlight was on Quebec cinema last week at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) as the movie “The Fireflies Are Gone” (La disparition des lucioles), directed by Sébastien Pilote and scored by Philippe Brault, was awarded the prize of Best Canadian Feature Film. The good news very timely as the film will hit theaters this Friday September 21.

“Emptying the Tank” at TIFF

Director Caroline Monnet and music composer Serge Nakauchi Pelletier team up for the very first time on “Emptying the Tank”, a short documentary about martial artist Ashley Nichols. Financed by CBC Docs and presented this week at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival), the documentary focuses on the spiritual and mental journey behind the athlete’s work

La disparition des lucioles will open the FCVQ festival

After shining at Karlovy Vary, considered as the most influencial cinema event in Central and Eastern Europe, and at TIFF, “La disparition des lucioles” will open the FCVQ festival (Festival de cinéma de la ville de Québec). Soundtracked by Philippe Brault, director Sebastien Pilote’s third opus will launch the event’s 2018 festivities as a Quebec premier and opening night showing Thursday September 13.
