Maisonnette Joins the Ray-On Family!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Maisonnette and its sister companies: the sync agency Harris & Wolff and Ray-On, a label services company, have been acquired by Mitsou Gélinas and Iohann Martin! The 3 companies will now be grouped under one banner: RAY-ON. With this enhanced version of Ray-on, the team wants to craft an environment that encourages creativity, provides personalized support and distribution services for both emerging and established artists; as well as offer music rights management and music to image for all types of productions.

“Drunken Birds” and “Maria Chapdelaine” in TIFF’s Top 10 Canadian Films of 2021

The two movies, both scored by Philippe Brault, are featured on TIFF’s top ten list of best Canadian movies of 2021 alongside titles such as Night Raiders, All My Puny Sorrows and Scarborough. The titles were selected by the TIFF’s programming team: Cameron Bailey, PDG, Diana Sanchez, directrice principale du cinéma, et Steve Gravestock, directeur associé de la programmation canadienne.

“Une révision” Out This Friday Nov. 5th – Music by Philippe Brault

“Une révision” is the first feature film from director Catherine Therrien. Scored by Philippe Brault, the movie follows Étienne, a Cégep teacher, and Nacria, one of his student, contesting a grade after citing a passage from the Coran as an argumentative texte in a dissertation. The movie is out this Friday November 5th.

“Drunken Birds” Will Represent Canada at the Oscars

The film, directed by Ivan Grbovic and scored by Philippe Brault, was chosen among 10 films submitted to the Telefilm Canada selection committee to represent Canada at the Oscars in the “Best International Film” category. “Drunken Birds” will be presented at Festival du Nouveau Cinema next week before releasing in cinemas on October 15!

“Les oiseaux ivres” from Ivan Grbovic at TIFF – Music by Philippe Brault

“Les oiseaux ivres” from filmmaker Ivan Grbovic will be part of the programming of TIFF’s 46th edition. The movie, scored by the music of Philippe Brault, will be premiered in the Platform section of the programming, which aims to feature innovative and groundbreaking filmmakers. The film follows Willy from Mexico to Canada on his quest to find his lost love Marlena, and where he gets hired as a seasonal working at the Bécotte farm, close to Montreal.
