The spotlight was on Quebec cinema last week at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) as the movie “The Fireflies Are Gone” (La disparition des lucioles), directed by Sébastien Pilote and scored by Philippe Brault, was awarded the prize of Best Canadian Feature Film. The good news very timely as the film will hit theaters this Friday September 21.

After shining at Karlovy Vary, considered as the most influencial cinema event in Central and Eastern Europe, and at TIFF, “La disparition des lucioles” will open the FCVQ festival (Festival de cinéma de la ville de Québec).
