World artist Boogat has been nominated at the 2019 Junos for “World Music Album of the Year” with his latest album “San Cristobal Baile inn”. The 2019 Juno Awards will take place March 17 and will broadcast across the country on CBC, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and CBC’s website.

Philippe Brault has been nominated for “2019 Achievement in Music – Original Score” at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards, presented by Acadmy for Canadian Cinema and Television, for his original score on “The Fireflies Are Gone”, directed by Sébastien Pilote and produced by ACPAV. The gala will take place March 31st and will air live on CBC.

The spotlight was on Quebec cinema last week at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) as the movie “The Fireflies Are Gone” (La disparition des lucioles), directed by Sébastien Pilote and scored by Philippe Brault, was awarded the prize of Best Canadian Feature Film. The good news very timely as the film will hit theaters this Friday September 21.
